Commercializing highly valuable parts of forest biomass that have largely been unused.
To offer added value to society through diversifying the use of natural resources.
As pioneers in industrial utilizing of forest plants, we act as key competence centre in respective technologies, production processes and product development and strive to be good cooperation partners for various stakeholders in the value chain.
We are active in marketing green juice products in many of its application areas and our activities contribute to Estonia’s brand as an environmentally aware nation and to raising Estonia’s export capacities.
We provide scientific institutions with material for testing and analysis and, if required, order lab tests for our products.
We manufacture presses for various production volumes and for different plants.
The main activity is pressing juice from healing herbs and forest plants and re-using juice pulp.
The aim is to diversify the use of herbs and healing plants, both for the end user and various producers.
For the end user at sensible prices.
We are open to collaboration with everyone in the wide Universe interested in the wise and profitable use of forest plants.
2015 - 2016 Proof-of- concept business idea: the aim was to demonstrate the production process and to verify that spruce needle mass can be processed using already existing technologies and the resulting spruce juice has the potential of being used. Positive feedback was received from users and a significant improvement in general state of health was observed by a cancer patient. Spruce juice was used in producing a batch of beer in cooperation with an Estonian craft brewery Nöösker OÜ. The resulting IPA beer was praised by critics for its unique and bold flavours and aromas and the market demand for it remains high.
2015 - 2016 small-scale test pressing. Results: it’s possible to juice spruce needles all year round; yield is around 30 - 40%. The initial feedback from needle juice users has been very positive and needle juice has also been used for various product development purposes: for example craft beer Spruce Willys (Nöösker brewery) found enthusiastic feedback.
November 2016 – poster presentation EcoSpruce: new added value products from spruce needles (pg. 8) in Vienna, at EIP-AGRI workshop "New value chains from multifunctional forests"
January - April 2017 – Innovation voucher of Enterprise Estonia, project EU51074 Spruce Innovation in partnership with the Centre of Food and Fermentation Technologies (Tallinn, Estonia). Project objective was the biochemical and technological study of spruce needle powder produced by juice lyophilisation (i.e. the process of dehydrating a frozen substance under conditions of sublimation; e.g., vacuum freeze-drying) in order to determine its specific fields of use in various fields of food industry.
